American heavyweight boxer Jarrell Miller walked away with a victory at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night — but also left fans laughing after an unexpected wardrobe malfunction in the ring.

During his bout against Kingsley Ibeh, Miller’s hairpiece began to peel away after he absorbed a series of punches. As the fight continued, the toupee became increasingly loose at the front, drawing attention from the crowd.

By the end of one round, the 37-year-old boxer clearly realised what had happened. Rather than trying to fix it, Miller grinned, removed the hairpiece completely and tossed it into the audience.

Despite the moment of embarrassment, Miller kept his focus in the ring and went on to win the heavyweight contest by split decision.

After the fight, Miller explained that the wig had been a last-minute solution after a mishap with his hair just days earlier.

In a post-fight interview, he revealed that he had accidentally damaged his hair while washing it at his mother’s house.

“I went over to my mom’s place and saw some shampoo bottles on the table,” Miller said. “I used one of them and it turned out to have ammonium bleach in it. My hair was basically gone within a couple of days.”

With the fight approaching quickly, Miller said he had to improvise.

“I called my manager and said, ‘Get me one of those manes.’ I just slapped it on real quick,” he joked. “I’m a comedian — I can laugh at myself.”

The unusual moment came during the undercard of the WBO super-lightweight title fight between Teofimo Lopez and Shakur Stevenson, which Stevenson ultimately won by unanimous decision.
