Parents get tattoos of young daughter’s huge birthmark to make her feel special

Most women mark their 40th birthday with a luxury holiday, an indulgent trip to the spa or an expensive piece of jewellery. But the only diamond Tanya Phillips had her eye on was the one at the end of a tattoo needle.

But the only diamond Tanya Phillips had her eye on was the one at the end of a tattoo needle.

To celebrate her big day she embarked upon the unusual full leg four hour tattooing of a bright red birthmark.

Like any Mum I didn’t want her to be different. I wanted her to be exactly the same as every other healthy child. And as much as the birthmark isn’t dangerous I knew it could have a huge impact on the rest of her life.”
